Saturn Class Year 3/4

Welcome to Saturn Class. Miss Santinelli is our class teacher and Mrs Bianchi supports us with our learning.

In Saturn class we explore exciting topics each term such as: The Egyptians, Stone Age Man, Eco Planet, Romans, Greeks and Anglo Saxons. Using a cross curricular approach to our learning helps us to become fully immersed with our topics. We have access to our own outdoor area which becomes an extension of our classroom.

Welcome back to an exciting Summer Term for Saturn Class.
Our topic this term is Rainforests, in particular the Amazon Rainforest, we'll be building jungles, tasting foods and comparing our lives to those of the Kayapo Tribe, so put on your seatbelts for a hot and steamy ride of the Rainforest!

Science this term is a study of two halves, firstly plants, why they die and what they need to survive! Followed by liquids, gases and solids, including an in depth study of the Water Cycle and it's relevance to the Amazon Rainforest.

In  Art this term we will be looking at Margaret Mee and using her influence to produce our own botanic art before moving onto the colours of Inca art and developing skills with their patterns and techniques.

During Music we will be learning the age old classic Old Macdonald on the recorder! This takes place every Friday. We heartily encourage practice at home, what is a home without a recorder I hear you ask! Just make sure it's back in your tray in time for our Friday session.

Please take a look at our Class Newsletter for more information on this terms learning and of course our Long Term Plans to see what's coming up next.
