Christingle Service

26th November 2021
Christingle Service
Our Christingle Service this year will take place at St. Mary's Church on Friday 26th November at 2pm. Parent and Carers are welcome to join us (unless restrictions change). We do ask that all visitors to the church wear face coverings.
Children can be collected from the church at the end of the service, if you are able to attend, if not or they have an afternoon club they can be collected from school as usual.
Christingle.....What does it mean?
Christingle is a celebration to share the light of Jesus and spread the message of Hope.
Christingles are the oranges that are wrapped with red tape, decorated with sweets and finished off with a candle. Each element has a special meaning to tell the Christian Story.
  • The Orange represents The World
  • The Red tape or ribbon symbolises the love and blood of Christ
  • The Sweets/dried fruit represent all of God's creations
  • The lit Candle represents Jesus's light in the world, bringing Hope to those living in darkness
The PTFA have kindly donated the resources so that the children can each make their own Christingle ready for the service. A BIG thank-you to them.
