Pupil Premium & Sports Premium

What is Pupil Premium Grant?

The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided by the government to schools in England to help improve the educational outcomes of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. It is intended to support children who are currently eligible for free school meals, have been eligible in the past six years, are in care or have been adopted from care, or have parents in the armed forces. Schools use this funding to help close the attainment gap between these pupils and their peers by providing extra support such as small group tuition, access to educational resources, or emotional and pastoral care. The aim is to ensure that all children, regardless of their background, have the best possible chance to succeed in their education.
What is Sports Premium?

The PE and Sport Premium is additional funding provided by the government to primary schools to help improve the quality of physical education (PE), sport, and physical activity for all pupils. This funding is designed to ensure that schools can build on their PE and sport provision, encouraging healthy, active lifestyles from an early age. Schools can use the PE Premium in a variety of ways, such as hiring specialist PE teachers or coaches, investing in new equipment, offering a wider range of sports and activities, or providing additional training for staff. The overall goal is to ensure that all children develop the skills, confidence, and enjoyment needed to lead physically active lives both in and outside of school.
