Neo, Our School Dog

A warm waggy welcome from Neo

Cavendish Church of England Primary School is proud to have a very special member of our community – Neo, our school dog (as pictured above). Neo is a four-year-old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, known for his friendly nature and calm temperament.

Neo brings a wealth of experience with him, having previously worked in another school where he was a much-loved and valued member of the community. His training and gentle demeanour make him a wonderful companion for our pupils, helping to create a nurturing and supportive school environment. Whether he's providing comfort to children who need a quiet moment, or simply brightening everyone's day with his wagging tail, Neo plays an important role in school life at Cavendish.

Neo is based in the headteachers office and will move around the school on a lead under
supervision. A full risk assessment has been completed, and he is covered by public liability insurance through the charity that assessed his suitability for this role.

We are always mindful of any children or visitors who may be nervous around dogs, and no child or visitor is required to interact with him if they are uncomfortable.
